KVH ONE Product Launch

Objective

A marketing campaign for the launch of a new product line based on the concept of one single antenna that delivers the hybrid functionality users need to enjoy a seamless, fast, and reliable connection. The challenge was to convey this message within the confines of an existing style guide and design system, while at the same time creating a new distinct micro-brand within the KVH family.

Approach

To visually demonstrate the hybrid functionality of this new product line to the audience, I created a graphic that represented the three different technologies which come together to form the hybrid ONE network. This graphic was then carried through print, tradeshow, video, and digital media for all three new TracNet products. New product pages were developed using shared components to speak to multiple different industries, reducing the individual number of product pages needed for three products from 14 to 3. Hybrid network switching was added to the KVH Manager software user interface and a sleek LCD touch screen was incorporated into the new belowdeck unit which required the design and development of a new UI.

Results

A well-executed campaign that successfully showcases the technology behind the hybrid network and the use cases to which it is best suited. The ONE network and TracNet product line is distinguishable enough to stand on its own, yet feels right at home within the established KVH brand. The clean visuals and smart tagline take a complex concept and make it easy to quickly understand. Email marketing, social media and print advertisements were used to generate buzz, drive website traffic, and capture leads.
