PROJECT OVERVIEW

KVH Mobile World - Wordpress Blog

Role: graphic design, website design, front end development

KVH Mobile World wordpress blog

Objective

With the launch of the company’s new website, their customer facing blog needed an update to match. The goal was to create a seamless transition from the main corporate site, built in Sitecore, to the blog, which is built in Wordpress. The customer was meant to feel as though the blog was part of the overall corporate site design.

Approach

I worked with the marketing director to determine the overall goal of the blog and which categories would be updated most frequently. Armed with the knowledge that the blog would stay in Wordpress, I used the company’s overall design system to update the components and layout, testing along the way to make sure that everything was translating from desktop to mobile view. This required custom CSS code. I included a sub menu to direct the audience back to the company’s main website pages without taking away from the hierarchy of the blog post content.

Results

A sleek new design to showcase thought-leading articles which lend knowledge and credibility to the brand - engaging customers, and earning their trust. A subscribe button leads customers to a subscription management page where they can tailor their subscription to their specific interests. This captures information and potential leads by industry. Prominent social media buttons facilitate sharing of content and backlinks to the company’s main website add SEO value.
