Product Configurator

Objective
With the release of a new product line, the company needed to update their existing online product configurator to align with the brand image, provide a mobile version for use on smaller devices, and bring the application a fresh, modern look that would appeal to users.
Approach
I met with the application manager to further understand the use case of the product configurator, the path users would need to follow to ensure success, and any pain points they may have along the way. With an understanding of the elements that would be needed, I created a style guide based on the brand’s existing design system that could be used specifically for the product configurator. This would ensure the design standards moving forward. From there, I created updated graphics and a working mobile and desktop prototype. I was then able to provide the style guide and design assets to the application developer to rebuild the application based on my scalable design for both mobile and desktop user
Results
A beautiful modern interface which now includes a scalable design for users on mobile, or tablet-sized devices. The configurator now blends seamlessly into the company’s overall brand image, and provides a thoughtful solution to the confusion customers faced when attempting to configure a device that may not be HTS-ready.
